The head coach of Nigeria handball senior teams, Rafiu Salami has released a list of 28 players that will participate for the 2019 All African Games qualifiers in Burkina Faso.

The 2019 All African Games qualifiers hold from 28th April to 2nd May, 2019 in Ouagadougou.

The team is made up of 14 male and 14 female filled with 20 home based players and 8 professional players.

Safety Shooters goalkeeper, Saka Salau will captain the male senior team while Niger United player, Aminu Aliyu is the assistant captain.

Philip Kalu of Maccabi Holon of Israel and Obinna Anih – Kawkab Athletic Club Marrakech of Morocco make their return to the senior national team after the nation’s performance at the 2018 Africa Nation’s Cup in Gabon.

Some of the nation’s U18 and U20 players like Niger United’s Anas Ahmed, Gbenga Rotibi of Lagos Seasiders and fast rising Farouk Yusuf of Mountada Derb Sultan Handball Club of Morrocco broke into the male team.

Maccabi Holon of Israel trio, Udochukwu Ohaekwe, Isoken Nosa-Odia and Chinemerem Ahamefula will lead the female national team to victory in Ouagadougou.

The Most Valuable Player of the 2018 Prudent Energy Handball League, Faith Inegbedion of Edo Dynamos, Ada Oke of Safety Babes, Plateau Peacocks duo, Toyin Yusuf and Hope Haruna made the team.
