Abdulkadir praised Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang for ensuring the team got the necessary financial support and encouragement since he took over the helms of affairs.

He revealed that three additional players were signed to beef up the squad and contend against heavyweights on the continent.

The African Games bronze medallist said, “Plateau Peacocks is one of the biggest teams in Nigeria and we will prove that on the court when we begin our campaign at the African Club Championship. I have gone through the profile of our opponents and I can tell you that Peacocks can make it to the quarterfinals.

“I want to applaud Governor Caleb Mutfwang for bringing life back to Plateau Peacocks; the club has enjoyed maximum support on and off the court. We narrowly missed the Club Championship last year due to late registration but the Governor vowed that the team will not miss this year’s edition. The players, coaches, and officials are extremely grateful for the Governor’s determination to reposition handball in the state.
