Okpala told www.aclsports.com that she is training hard to set a World Record at her maiden Paralympics.

She said, “The Tokyo 2020 Paralympics will be my first and I am going all out to win gold. I have been training so hard after the 2019 International Championships in Lagos and I prayed to God that I want to set a new World Record in Japan.

Okpala revealed that determination got her going despite the challenges becoming a champion.

The 2018 National Sports Festival Champion said, “When all hope was lost, I look unto God to show me the way and before I knew it, I was introduced to Para Powerlifting. Determination and hard work has kept me going despite the challenges I encounter in my day to day life.

“Qualifying for the Paralympics has given me hope and my dreams of becoming a recognised athlete is about to become reality”.
