San Diego Wave FC has officially announced the mutual termination of midfielder Favour Emmanuel’s contract, allowing the Nigerian international to return home,www.aclsports.com reports.

The decision, confirmed by the club on Thursday, May 29, 2025, was described as a mutual agreement between both parties.

Emmanuel, who joined the Wave on January 20, 2025, on a two-year deal with a club option for a third, made just two appearances across all competitions, including one start, during her time with the team.

The club announced her departure on social media with a heartfelt message:

“All the best as you return home, Favour.”

Wave FC Sporting Director and General Manager Camille Ashton expressed gratitude for her contributions, stating:

“We thank Favour for her contributions to the Wave and wish her well for the future. This move was made to allow her to return home to Nigeria.”

A full Nigerian international and former Bayelsa Queens player, Emmanuel departs with the club’s best wishes as she prepares for the next chapter of her career back in her home country.
