Togo star Emmanuel Adebayor has been recruited by Paraguay side Club Olimpia, the team announced on Tuesday. The 35-year-old striker became a free agent last December when he departed Turkish club Kayserispor.
At his new club, Adebayor will play alongside former Manchester City teammate Roque Santa Cruz, who reportedly played a major role in the signing of the Togo captain.
Adebayor will also be tasting for the first time the Copa Libertadores (which is South America’s Champions League) since Olimpia have qualified for the group phase.
Olimpia is his 10th club after Metz and Monaco in France; Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Crystal Palace in England; Real Madrid in Spain and Basaksehir and Kayserispor in Turkey.
