NYG: Stephen Godswill wins three gold medals

Bayelsa state weightlifter, Stephen Godswill won three gold medals in the 49kg men’s category at the ongoing 2023 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta state on Saturday.

Stephen Godswill had three gold medals lifting 56kg in the Snatch event, 67kg in the Clean and Jerk as well as 123kg in the Total.

Samson Teron of Rivers State won three silver medals lifting 55kg in the snatch event, 66kg in the clean and jerk as well as 121kg in the total while Adebayo Saheed of Osun State lifted 42kg in the snatch event, 50kg in the clean and jerk as well as 92kg in the total to win three bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Chinasa Ezenwa of Lagos State won two gold and 1 bronze medal in the women’s 45kg event at the National Youth Games. Ezenwa got the two gold from the Clean and Jerk (70kg) and Total (123), while the bronze medal from the snatch (53kg).

Esther Ezenwa of Abia state won one gold from the snatch (55kg) and one silver from the clean and jerk (67kg). Rivers state Christiana Allorma won three silver medals lifting 54kg in the Snatch event, 68kg in the Clean and Jerk as well as 122kg in the Total.
