A late strike from Anam Imo ensured last season’s league winners went away with all three points from Lagos with a match to go. Defending champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Nasarawa Amazons moved a step closer to a spot in the Super 4 with a victory over FC Robo Queens on Saturday.

Meanwhile in Umuahia, Abia Angels played out a 1-1 draw with Sunshine Queens to keep up the chase for a place in the final four. While Adamawa Queens ran out 2-0 winners over league debutants, Jokodolu Babes.

A brace from Anjor Mary – one in either half, ensured Osun Babes defeated the league’s most successful side, Pelican Stars in a convincing fashion as they hope to avoid the drop.

In Port Harcourt, female AITEO Cup champions Rivers Angels earned an important draw to maintain second position in Group A with a game in hand.

After going down against Bayelsa Queens to a Joy Bokiri goal in the first half, the Cup winners had to rally back to earn a point thanks to Juliet Sunday’s third goal in three matches.

Meanwhile, Delta Queens recorded an impressive 2-0 win over Edo Queens to go top of Group A pending the time Rivers Angels play their outstanding game.

Finally in Uyo, Heartland Queens failed to show up for their match against Ibom Angels and it was recorded as a walkover, hence a 3-0 victory for the home team. While Sure Babes lost to Confluence QueensG by a lone goal from Glory Osaghae.

With one round of games left to play, and the close points difference at the top in both groups, the final four teams to do battle in tue Super 4 will be decided on the final day of the season.
