NTF releases 2019 Rankings in ahead of Int’l open

The Nigeria Taekwondo Federation has released the first set of 2019 rankings on January 20th, 2019 ahead of next month’s International Open.

These rankings are based on points earned during the 2018 National Sports Festival in Abuja.

In a statement obtained by www.aclsports.com, Rivers State led the way in five of the 16 men and women categories followed closely by Delta State with three athletes in the NTF rankings.

Among the Rivers State athletes topping their Women’s rankings are Josephine Esuku (-46kg), Chinazum Nwosu (-53kg), Vivian Ndu (-62kg), Chiamaka Onumonu (+73kg) and in the men’s ranking is Sunday Onofe (- 87kg).

The Delta State athletes at the summit are Sanusi Abdulmujeeb (-54kg), Shola Olowookere (-68kg) and Uzoamaka Otuadinma (-73kg).

Charles Okon (-58kg) of Kebbi state, Ifeoluwa Ajayi (-63kg) of Q-Madi, Bright Kolade (-74kg) of Kebbi state, Nzelu Chukwudi (-80kg) of Oyo state and Sadiq Abdulrahman (+87kg) of Plateau State are ranked number one in the male weight classes.

Meanwhile, Sekinat Adebayo (-49kg) of Kano state, Asonye Peace (-57kg) of Abia State and Elizabeth Anyanacho (-67kg) of FCT are all ranked number one in their female weight classes.
