Nigeria’s Female Yellow Greens, opened their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier campaign with a 96-run win over Sierra Leone on Sunday in Namibia, www.aclsports.com reports.

Batting first, Nigeria piled up an impressive 182/3 in 20 overs, led by Piety Lucky’s explosive 68 off 36 balls. She was supported by Salome Sunday (47 off 33) and Muhibat K. Amusa (31 off 33) as the Yellow Greens dominated the innings.

In response, Sierra Leone faltered against Nigeria’s disciplined bowling attack, managing 86/8 from their 20 overs. Rachael Samson (1/8), Adeshola Adekunle (1/10), and Piety Lucky (1/12) stood out in a clinical performance.

The win gave Nigeria the perfect launch to their campaign, boosting confidence and net run rate ahead of sterner challenges.

Up next are hosts Namibia on 1 September, followed by a clash with Zimbabwe on 3 September.
