Struggling side Nasarawa United added gloss to an incredible Match Day 15 results in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) when they humbled Dakkada FC away from home on Thursday.

Three away wins were recorded in the league on Wednesday and Nasarawa United earned their own share of the mid-January bonanza with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Dakkada away in Uyo on Thursday.

Right back Ibrahim Matthew gave Nasarawa a shock lead slightly against the run of play on the half hour mark to silence the sizeable number of home fans at the Nest of Champions.

The hosts were handed a golden chance to equalise late in the second half but team captain Aniekan Ekpe missed the 77th minute penalty awarded to his side after coming off the bench.

The Solid Miners however took full advantage with midfielder Yusuf Anas scoring twice in the final three minutes of the game to hand his side their first away win of the season.

The result lifts Nasarawa United off the foot of the table into 17th position on the table with a game in hand while Dakkada FC remain 5th on the log with 23 points.

Nasarawa United will continue their quest to avoid a relegation dogfight when they host Warri Wolves at the Lafia Township Stadium on Sunday. Dakkada on their own will travel to table toppers Lobi Stars on Sunday.
