NBBF AGM, Stakeholders Forum to hold in Abuja

The Nigeria Basketball Federation will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Stakeholders forum on Saturday, April 13th, 2019 in Abuja.

The AGM which will have in attendance 2 representatives from the 36 Basketball state Associations and the Federal Capital Territory, representatives of Referees, Coaches, Technical Commissioners and the Para Military will hold at the National Institute of Sports located inside the Abuja National Stadium.

This was contained in a letter addressed to various Commissioners/ Directors of Sports and Chairmen of State Basketball Associations and other relevant bodies by the NBBF Secretary General, Chimezie Asiegbu.

According to the letter, all state associations and relevant bodies must ensure that 2019 affiliation fees and arrears are fully settled before the AGM which will serve as accreditation and access to the event.

Chimezie directed that all state representatives must collect an official letter from either their Commissioners or Directors of Sports which should be addressed to the Secretary General of the Nigeria Basketball Federation for easy identification.

It is expected that far reaching decisions will be taken with special emphasis on the Laws governing the game in Nigeria in line with directives from the Federation of International Basketball Associations and the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Meanwhile, the ‪annual Stakeholders Forum will also hold at the same venue at 2:00pm.

The traditional stakeholders forum is in preparation for the commencement of the 2019 basketball season.

All basketball stakeholders in Nigeria are invited to attend where vital issues relating to the 2019 season and the development of Basketball in Nigeria will be discussed.

All participants will be responsible for their transportation, accommodation and feeding while attending the meeting.
