The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports for the second time in a roll failed to welcome the Nigeria Wrestling Federation after excelling at the World Championship.

The team arrived the Muritala Mohammed Airport at about 1pm on Monday but were received by only journalists without any official of the ministry.

Recall that in April 2017, the wrestlers came back from the African Championships in Marrakech, Morocco with 8 Gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze and no one received the athletes and officials.

On reaching the President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali said he’s not bothered about the reception of the team adding it’s an indication that the federation are on their own.

“I won’t bother about anyone receiving us. Only journalists were at the airport, no ministry”.

“If humans will not receive us, God will” Igali said.

Team Nigeria won its first ever wrestling silver medal at the just concluded World Wrestling Championships in Paris, France.
