MFM midfielder Kenedinum Chuks has expressed gratitude to God for an important goal and much deserved win. It was an unexpected last minute winner against Niger Tornadoes in a five goal thriller at the Agege Stadium on Sunday evening,

With three minutes of added time left against Tornadoes MFM launched a final attack which result in a free-kick by the side of the visitors box. The initial free-kick was cleared but only as far as an MFM midfielder who launched the ball forward for Kenedinum Chuks who made the run towards the ball to lob it past the Tornadoes keeper.

Just before scoring the goal “All I was thinking of was the three points because at the beginning of the game the target was to take all three points and when we were two goals down I was not really myself because the focus was getting all three points,” Kenedinum said. “So the moment the opportunity came I was happy because I knew it was the moment to celebrate.

On scoring the match winning goal he said: “I feel great about the goal but it’s not about me, it’s about the team. Initially I wanted to hold on to the ball but I remembered the coach said we needed the three points badly to push us further ahead so I played the ball one time and the moment I saw it go into the net I was so happy.

“Going forward the goal would help my confidence and boost my morale playing for the team,” he added.
