Former Chelsea midfielder, Nemanja Matic has praised team mate, Marouane Fellaini, who has left the Serbian impressed.

Fellaini was in superb form last weekend, as he scored twice in Manchester United’s 4-0 defeat of bottom club, Crystal Palace.

However, according to Matic, Fellaini’s form hasn’t come at a surprise to him at all.

“He is a great player,” Matic said of Fellaini, his midfield partner in the win against the Eagles.

“If you see him how he works everyday in the training session, his games that he played didn’t surprise me – that he played well, that he scored goals.

“He deserves everything well because he works a lot and he is a great player.

Since joining United in 2013, the big Belgian has been very much vilified by the Red Devils fans, who also booed the former Everton player last season.

But this has left Matic surprised, as he believes the 29-year-old deserves more appreciation than he gets.

“He doesn’t have the credit that he deserves,” Matic added. “I don’t know why, I don’t know really. But I really enjoy playing with him and I am sure that we will continue like this.”
