The Kwara State Sports Stadium Ilorin came alive as the Kwara State/FA Sport Showcase Tourney kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony on Monday, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Magaji, set the tone with an inspiring address, highlighting the government’s dedication to nurturing young talent and providing a platform for them to shine.

“Seeing is believing,” Magaji said, “Anyone with doubts should come to the stadium and witness the talent on display. We have scouts from Europe and 14 teams participating, including a team from Lagos and a foreign team from Ghana.”

With the presence of European scouts, the competition offers a potential pathway to professional careers for outstanding players. Magaji expressed his confidence that at least three players would be selected to pursue their dreams in Europe, which will definitely change their lives.

“We are talking about a government that has the mind of taking the youth off the street,” Magaji emphasized. “By the grace of God, no fewer than three players would be picked here and would be moving to Europe, and that would be the beginning of a new life.”

The Chairman’s enthusiasm was infectious, encouraging anyone with doubts to witness the talent on display.

The tournament’s emphasis on fair play and sportsmanship was also stressed, ensuring a positive and uplifting experience for all involved.

“Play with fair and win with fair,” Magaji urged the players.

‘This is a Kwara State Government outreach programme that we are really proud of. Thanks to His Excellency, the Governor, we’ve seen these boys get an experience that is truly rare. Thanks to FA Sport for coordinating with our state for a truly special occasion.
