Nigeria handball team will fight for the fifth place position after recording their second defeat at the ongoing IHF Emerging Nations Handball Championship in Georgia.

Bulgaria beat Nigeria 27 to 19 goals in the last game of Group B on Day three at Tbilisi Sports Palace, Tbilisi with 76 spectators in attendant.

Goals from Philip Igwe and Obinna Anih (5 goals each), Emeka Emmanuel and Gbenga Cole (3 goals each) as well as Usman Sulaiman, Abdullahi Mohammed and Mathew Ibitoye (1 goals each) were not enough for Nigeria to upset high flying Bulgaria.

Nigeria on Sunday drew 31-31 against a well experienced and formidable Irish side. Obina Anih was awarded the best player of the match on the Nigerian side.
