The former African champion has put pen to paper on a five-year deal that will see him stay at his first home in seven years, in Leganes, until the summer of 2024.

The now 25-year-old spent his time at Stamford Bridge as a loanee, with stints in the Netherlands, Turkey, Spain and also in the English Championship with Middlesbrough.

However, after a successful 2018/2019 season in La Liga last season, making 31 appearances for Leganes with 30 starts, Omeruo must surely be excited to finally have a place to call home again.

Omeruo will wear the number four (4) jersey next season at Leganes and will resume training on Wednesday with the rest of his teammates.

The Nigerian international who has 50 caps for Nigeria, was a key member of the Super Eagles team that picked up another bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations, this time at the recently concluded AFCON2019 in Egypt.
