Nigeria’s Temitope Adeshina has set a new National Record in the women’s High Jump event. Adeshina created a Personal Best (PB) of 1.96m at the Corky Classic in Texas to eclipse the National Record set by former African Champion, Doreen Amata in the outdoor (1.95m) and indoor (1.93m) since 2008.

The 25-year-old freshman from Nigeria did not only break the National Record but her school record, took the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) lead and claimed the World Lead. She is tied at the number 3 NCAA mark.
