Rafael Nadal clinched a record 11th French Open title after defeating Dominic Them in three straight sets 6-4 6-3 6-2.

The Spaniard was in cruise control for the better part of the match with the Austrian looking second best despite the World number one struggling with a wrist injury. The 32 year-old however pulled through it after receiving treatment, to continue his air of invincibility at the Roland Garros.

Nadal’s win over Thiem makes it the Spaniard’s 17th Grand Slam as he becomes the second player in history to win the same Grand Slam on 11 occasions after Margaret Court who won 11 Australian Open titles.
