The Secretary General of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Abdullahi Ahmed Labide says machinery has been put in place by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) members to ensure that the Governor Wike Championships is a success.

Abdullahi told aclsports.com in Port Harcourt that the Rivers State government has deployed necessary logistics to make the championships does not face difficulties.

He said Governor Wike set up a high level committee to make the championships one that Rivers State and the country realize that the state is not only focused on football but other sports.

“Governor Wike before now, inaugurated a high level committee to make the tourney one that not only Edo people, Nigeria and indeed Africa but the entire world will come to the realization that Rivers State State is actually the home of sports in Nigeria”,he said.

Also speaking, the Technical Representative of the Federation, Philip Momoh said the officials will, before the start of the competition, undergo refresher courses to keep them abreast with latest guidelines.

“The National Championships is like a test run for the Africa tournaments next February. The course is to make sure our officials are aware of the little adjustments in the sports”, the Olympian said.
