Chelsea continue to make the news as the transfer deadline approaches with the latest being a rejected bid for Everton midfielder, Ross Barkley.

Everton are said to have turned down a £25m offer from Chelsea for the England international but the 23 year-old seems to be on the verge of leaving before Thursday transfer deadline after turning down a new deal at the Goodison Park.

With one year left on his current contract, it is expected that Everton would reduce their £50m asking price as the club wouldn’t want to risk letting him leave for free next summer.

Barkley who has been out of action due to a serious hamstring injury which could see him further sidelined for 3 months, is also being targeted by Tottenham and it is expected that talks with both Chelsea and the North London club would continue in a bid to resolve his future.
