Leicester City midfielder, Danny Drinkwater has reportedly handed in a transfer request in a bid to force through a move to Chelsea FC.
He is said to have set his mind on a move to the English Champions although they are yet to meet Leicester City’s valuation.
It is reported that £25m fee has been discussed but the foxes are not ready to part with their player except they receive a tempting offer from Chelsea.
Two offers from the Blues for the midfielder have already been rejected by the Foxes, and he has now informed the club of his wish to leave, as per the BBC.
The Foxes do not wish to sell the 27-year-old, and have made this known on a number of occasions.
However, Chelsea are looking to replace Nemanja Matic, who joined rivals, Manchester United, and see Drinkwater as a worthy replacement for the Serbian despite having signed Timeoue Bakayoko from Monaco.
Drinkwater, who left Old Trafford in 2012 for Leicester, was an important part of the Leicester side that shocked the footballing world when they beat all comers to the PL title in 2016, alongside N’Golo Kante, who now plays at Stamford Bridge.
Drinkwater featured 35 times in that record breaking campaign, in the league and has since gone on to represent England, with three caps to his name.
