Super Falcons forward, Esther Okoronkwo has signed a contract extension with AFC Toronto, keeping her at the club until 2027, www.aclsports.com reports.

The 29-year-old striker joined Toronto ahead of the club’s inaugural Northern Super League season in February 2025 and quickly became a key figure. Okoronkwo finished the 2025 regular season with eight goals and seven assists, before scoring a hat-trick in the playoffs to send AFC Toronto into the NSL Championship Final.

She finished the inaugural NSL regular season as the league’s top assist provider and earned a spot on the Team of the Season.

The club announced the extension on its official social media channels on Thursday.

“Our Super Falcon is here to stay. Esther Okoronkwo’s vision, power, and finishing have been game-changing — we’re excited to have her signed through to 2027.”

Alongside Okoronkwo, AFC Toronto also extended contracts for Zoe Burns, Kaila Novak, and Lauren Rowe, all signed through at least the 2026–27 season.

Internationally, Okoronkwo played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title-winning campaign, registering two goals and seven assists, including a goal and two assists in the final against Morocco. Her performance in the final earned her player-of-the-match honours.

With Okoronkwo committed to AFC Toronto, the club looks set to build on its early success and aim even higher in the seasons ahead.
