Nigeria trio of Joel Obi, newbie, Samuel Chukwueze and Henry Onyekuru have made Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr a happy man after they were all on target in their respective leagues.
Here is a recap of their performances and that of other Super Eagles stars based in Europe at the weekend.
As usual, we start in England, where we have majority of the players led by Alex Iwobi, who had a very quiet outing for his London based side, Arsenal as they rescued a point at home to Wolverhampton on Sunday.
Iwobi only lasted 46minutes in their 1-1 draw against the Wolves.
Elsewhere in England, Leon Balogun remained rooted to the bench and was a spectator once again for his team, Brighton & Hove Albion. He watched on as an unused substitute in their 2-1 defeat at Cardiff City.
At the King Power, the flow of emotions continued for Leicester City and their Nigerian duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho as more tributes for their dead owner poured in.
They welcomed Burnley, who held them to a goalless affair with Ndidi being Ndidi, playing from start to finish while Iheanacho tasted 30minutes of action
At St. Mary’s stadium, Success Isaac of Watford was caged for 90minutes in his side’s 1-1 draw against Southampton.
In the English second division, Oghenekaro Etebo, starred for his Stoke City side who went, saw and left The City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest, with a point following their 0-0 draw.
France
Samuel Kalu, Bordeaux
Kalu played for just under an hour in Bordeaux’s 0-0 draw at home to Caen.
And in Germany, Jamilu Collins played the duration of the game as Paderborn played out an entertaining eight-goal thriller against Holstein Kiel. The game ended 4-4.
Israel
John Ogu, Hapoel Beer Sheva
A narrow escape for Ogu and Sheva, who nearly gave up a two-goal lead before winning 3-2 at Beitar Jerusalem, with Ogu on from start to finish.
Italy
It was a good day for Joel Obi at Chievo Verona after he scored his first goal of the season. However, that goal was not enough to secure his side all three points, they were forced to share the spoils following a 2-2 draw with Bologna.
Still in the Serie A, William Troost-Ekong and his Udinese side can’t seem to stop losing after falling to Empoli 2-1 with Troost-Ekong playing for 90minutes.
Ola Aina, Torino
Aina saw 90minutes of action but still ended on the losing side courtesy of their 1-2 defeat at home to Parma.
Russia
Bryan Idowu, Lokomotiv Moscow
Idowu was not listed this time around as Lokomotiv drew 0-0 at Rubin Kazan.
Spain
Samuel Chukwueze. Villarreal
Newly invited Super Eagle, Chukwueze, was in superb form for his La Liga outfit, putting on a man of the match display, which include netting his first league goal for them.
He was on from start to finish of their 2-2 draw with Rayo Vallecano, scoring their first goal in the first half.
Kenneth Omeruo, Leganes
After his credible performance against Atletico Madrid last weekend, Omeruo put in another solid show and this time was rewarded as Leganes kept a clean sheet.
Omeruo was on from start to finish, marshaling his side to a goalless draw at Girona.
Turkey
Henry Onyekuru, Galatasaray
Onyekuru returned to scoring ways as he put an end to his long drought for his Turkish side. The 21-year-old scored the opening goal enroute a 3-0 thrashing of Kayserispor on Saturday.
