Nigeria U23 football team captain Okechukwu Azubuike has commenced outdoor training with his Turkish Super Lig side Istanbul Başakşehir after returning negative result to Covid-19.

Players in Turkish’s top flight, like most in other European countries have been made to work indoors for the past seven weeks due to the deadly Coronavirus.

As leagues across Europe begin gradual steps towards returning to action on the pitch, players in Turkey’s top two divisions were subjected to Coronavirus tests and were subsequently given the all clear to return to training.

Azubuike, 23, was spotted at Başakşehir’s training complex on Tuesday morning (pictured) undergoing training albeit a segmented one in obedience to social distancing measures.

“We did another test yesterday (Monday) and we were all certified clear to start training,” Azubuike told www.aclsports.com on Tuesday.

“We are currently outdoor in segments and maybe we will start group training next week.”

Azubuike’s side Başakşehir were locked on the same points at the summit of the Super Lig table with Tranzonspor before the league was called off after both teams’ clash on March 15.
