Cole reunites with former team mate Lampard at Derby

Former England and Chelsea defender, Ashley Cole, cannot wait to kick start his new adventure after reuniting with former team mate Frank Lampard at Derby County.

Cole on Monday sealed a short term deal that will see him star for the Rams until the summer for the Sky Bet Championship side, managed by his former team mate at Chelsea, Lampard.

Cole arrives Pride Park with a wealth of experience having played for some of the best teams including Arsenal, Chelsea and Italian side, AS Roma during his two decades career.

With his latest adventure at the Rams, Cole reunites with Lampard after both players spent eight seasons at Chelsea.

The former England international, who began his career at the age of 18 is eager to kickoff his newest journey at the promotion chasing outfit.

“[I am] looking forward to the new challenge ahead with Derby County,” he said moments after his was unveiled.

“I wanted to come here and fight for something, fight for a good cause and make promotion. I think that would be great for the club and for Lampard and me as well,” he added, according to the club’s official website.

The experienced left back won two Premier League titles at Arsenal and two FA Cups before joining city rivals, Chelseain 2006, raking up more laurels including four FA Cups, one PL title and one Champions League at Stamford Bridge.

Cole and Lampard together represented England at two world cup tournaments and a European Championship.
