Castmog Ladies and hosts Ahudiyannem Queens have sealed promotion to the NWFL Premiership, joining already-qualified Sunshine Queens, www.aclsports.com reports.

The 2025 NWFL Championship promotion race reached a decisive point on Wednesday, with three spots secured and only Group B2 still open for the final ticket.

In Umuahia, Castmog Ladies confirmed their elevation to the top flight despite losing 1–0 to Gallant Queens. A 49th-minute own goal by goalkeeper Omotolani Oladunjoye handed Gallant their first goal of the campaign, but the result did not affect Castmog’s promotion, as an earlier 0–0 draw between First Mahi Babes and Royal Queens had already guaranteed them top spot in Group A1 with six points.

In Abiriba, Ahudiyannem Queens capped their fairytale run by holding Wazbak International to a 1–1 draw, enough to clinch promotion on home soil. Kenechukwu Eze struck in the 38th minute to give the hosts the lead before Sofiat Hassan’s 86th-minute equaliser secured a point for Wazbak. Ann Chiejine’s side finished top of Group B1 with seven points. On the same ground, Pelican Stars signed off on a positive note, edging Chosen Generation Angels 1–0 thanks to Glory Chukwu’s 18th-minute strike.

Osun Babes produced one of the standout performances of the Championship so far, reviving their Premiership dream with a commanding 4–1 victory over Ghetto Tigers. Adeola Omowodun (4’), Zainab Salaudeen (14’, 29’) and Victory Odanlumen (47’) all scored for Osun, while Ebube Jude grabbed the lone reply for the Tigers. Delta Babes also found form at the right time, recording their first win of the campaign with a 2–1 triumph over Moje Queens. Ijeoma Damian (19’) and Mary Chisom (23’) gave Delta a two-goal cushion before Tawa Mustapha (64’) reduced the deficit.

In Umuahia, Sunshine Queens maintained their flawless run with a 1–0 win over Kwara Ladies, finishing with maximum nine points and no goals conceded. Fortress Ladies also ended on a high, defeating Unification FC 2–0 through first-half goals from Okundia Aisosa (18’) and Henry Ivie (24’).

With action in Groups A1, A2, and B1 already concluded, the spotlight now shifts to Group B2, where the last promotion place will be decided over the weekend. Imo Striker Queens sit in pole position with six points from two matches, but Osun Babes, Ghetto Tigers, and Delta Babes are still in contention for the final berth in the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership.

Promoted: Sunshine Queens, Castmog Ladies and Ahudiyannem Queens.
