Nigerian Champions, Rangers International, have arrived in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom for the 2024/25 CAF Champions League,  first preliminary round fixture against Comoros Islands side, U.S Zilimadjou, www.aclsports.com reports.

Led by the League Bloggers Awards’ coach of the season, Fidelis Ilechukwu, the delegation of twenty-six players, coaches, backroom staff, and other top management officials arrived in high spirit to defend the badge of the club and the flag of the nation, Nigeria in their return to continental football after four seasons.

It will be recalled that both legs of Rangers’ clash with the Comoros Champions have been scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium with Zilimadjou playing at “home” in the first leg on Sunday.

“We respect our opponent but we shall do the needful, by God’s special grace, on the field of play. We have intensified our training since the preparation for the new season started and with the level of motivation in our team, we shall come out with a good result.”

Similarly, assistant captain and first-choice goalkeeper, Opubo Japhet said, “I believe we have all it takes to get a good result on Sunday in Uyo. Though not much is known about our opponent, we give them their respect as the champions of Comoros but we have our game plans.”
