It was a one-sided affair between the Imo Grasshoppers and Benue Queens on day 3 of the 2023 Ardova Handball Premier League in Lagos.

A brilliant second-half performance propelled Imo Grasshoppers to their second win in the final phase of the league. Grasshopper proved just too good for Benue Queens following a 27 to 21 goals at the NIS court on Thursday.

The fly grasshoppers consolidated on their outstanding victory against Bendel Dynamos, 34 to 23 goals on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Safety Babes HC’s fine winning streak was halted by former champions, Plateau Peacocks 18 to 18 goals. The match regarded as the game of day three produced plenty of defensive play from both teams in the first and second half which resulted in the lowest scoring match since the commencement of the second phase.

Coach Yusuf Abdulkadir of Plateau Peacocks told www.aclsports.com that his players played according to the instructions given to them before the match started.

He said, “I am happy with the result of today because the match would have gone either way. In the first phase, Safety Babes were lucky to have won by one goal margin which broke my heart. Before the commencement of the match, I told the girls to enjoy themselves on the court and you can see the result.

“I am still working on the team and we are going to go all out against Defenders Babes.”
