The second phase of the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League resumes Friday in Abuja with the board of Nigeria Volleyball Federation reiterating its unflinching commitment to the growth and development of the game in Nigeria.

The 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League serves off from 17th to 25th November at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

In the men’s first match, Nigeria Police Force will take on NSCDC; defending champions, Offa VC will battle COAS Spikers. 2022 National Division 1 champion, will slug it out with experienced Sunshine Spikers while Nigeria Immigration Service faces Kada Kings.

In the women’s matches, 2022 National Division 1 Champions as well as runner up, CNS Spikers and Life Camp will light up the court; Youthful Anambra Queens face experienced Nigeria Immigrations Service, COAS Spikers renews their rivalry against NSCDC while Benue Queens will slug it out with Kwara United.

According to NVBF Technical Director, Chief Martin Melandi, exciting times await teams, players, fans as well as keen observers of the league, reaffirming its total commitment to the growth and development of the game in Nigeria.

“We acknowledge the challenges in our selfless quests to ensure that volleyball is properly developed in Nigeria. This board of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation remains committed, despite the perennial paucity of funds bedevilling the development of sports in Nigeria.

“Without adequate funding and preparations, our various national teams cannot achieve our desired goals.

He said the league champion will qualify to represent Nigeria at next year’s African Club Championships.
