Ezinne Onyemaechi told www.aclsports.com that Imo Grasshopper are not under pressure ahead of the second phase of the 2023 Ardova Handall Premier League in Lagos State.

Imo Grasshopper won two matches and lost seven matches, occupying ninth position at the 2023 Ardova Handall Premier League (first phase).

Onyemaechi attributed the woeful performance of the team to exodus of experienced players as well as lack of finishing.

She said, “We are 9th and battling relegation in the league for the first time in a decade. A lot has happened to the team, we lost many players but I believe with the preparations so far, we are coming back bigger.

“Imo Grasshoppers, one of the biggest handball clubs in Africa is not under pressure, we are a team to watch out for in the second phase”, she told www.aclsports.com

She declared total readiness for the second phase of the 2023 Ardova Handall Premier League.

Onyemaechi said, “I am ready for the second phase and have done my bid as an athlete. I pray my efforts will be crowned with success by the Grace of God. The fans should expect a better outing and a different Grasshopper from the first phase.

“I want to give kudos to the technical crew of the team because they have been able to reshape our mentality towards the game. Imo Grasshoppers is not just a club; it is a family”

Imo Grasshoppers will face Plateau Peacocks in their first match on November 14th.
