Football loving Nigerians could not hide their anger after the Flying Eagles 2-0 loss to the United States of America (USA) at the FIFA Under- 20 World Cup, FIFAU20WC, in Poland on Monday night.

Forward Sebastian Soto scored a goal in each half to condemn Paul Aigbogun’s men to their first loss of the competition, leaving them with all to play for in their final group game against Ukraine.

Nigerians took to their various social media accounts to vent their thoughts on what was indeed a listless performance from the Flying Eagles.

Here are some of the best reactions to the defeat;

Let us kick start this with this particular Nigerian comparing Ladan Bosso’s 2007 side to the current team.

Between Ladan Bosso' team and Paul Aigbogun' team i don't know which is less desirable.

How you select 34 year old men to a tourney meant for #U20 and they are humiliated by proper kids. 😊

Smh!

According to this fan, Nigeria’s defeat did not come to him as a surprise.

Really not surprised by Nigeria's poor showing against the United States. Qatar was not a real test. The Americans were hungrier after their opening defeat to Ukraine and made it stick. A final tricky tie against the Ukrainians to decide who progresses. #USANGA #U20WC

Who will refund him his fuel money now?

These Nigerians did not hold back as they had very strong words for the coach, Aigbogun and his players;

Coach Paul Aigbogun has been totally outclassed and outwitted by his American counterpart. For a manager that had part of his coaching education in the United States, this has been overly poor from a tactical point of view. #FIFAU20WC #USANGA

Worst set of players and coach without pattern and style. The coach brought in tall striker tijani and thought i was going to see crosses coming in but what i saw rather was set of players playing for personal glory, shooting anyhow even when a teammate was in a better position. pic.twitter.com/BpcmsykyXA

Where did Coach Agbogun got this floppy set of wing less flying chickens from? This is the worst set of flying eagles in recent tome😂😂😂

— Ovo Omosor (@OmosorSO) May 27, 2019

More knocks for the team, no cohesion, talent, and no positives, according to the following persons;

Terrible display from Aigbogun's boys, tactically dead, no team cohesion, Little or no talent in the team. We lost 2-0 to USA without even putting up a fight. No positives in today's game #WingsHafCut #GoHomeFlyingEagles #USANGA #U20WC pic.twitter.com/0ZZvsPCvsA

Is a shame that a basketball or baseball country can beat us in football, select our best for any tournament...

— Muhammad (@sani_atk) May 27, 2019

Well, is this the end of the road for the Flying Eagles? This Nigerian certainly thinks so and he isn’t alone.

This Nigeria U20 sucks mehn.. They're technically & tactical average. I'm sure they're out of #FIFA20 @thenff @AbimbolaLameed

Lol😀😀,expected nothing from this team from onset..

— Idowu Adebayo Shola (@lebar4real) May 27, 2019

Knocks for the NFF as well, with calls for a better selection process.

Please @thenff if we are going to loose a game let's loose gracefully, not with this old men on parade, age cheatting will get us nowhere , it has not help us in the past it will not help us now

Well, with one more game left in the group stages, it is not all gloom and doom. This Nigerian is still hopeful that the Flying Eagles can turn it around.

I am not saying the boys did not dissapoint us,But it is certainly not the end of their campaign. Even the under 17 team that won the world cup in Chile in 2015 were totally outplayed and outclassed by Croatia in one of their group games.Please see more positivity not negativity.

The Flying Eagles will have one more chance to prove him right and also impress other Nigerians when they take Ukraine in their final group game on Thursday.
