In the NWSL, Washington Spirit recalled Deborah Abiodun from her loan, and just days later she made her league debut, coming off the bench in the second half of a 1–1 draw against Chicago Stars.
Fellow Nigerian Gift Monday, also featured as a substitute in the 58th minute.
Meanwhile, Michelle Alozie remained an unused substitute as Houston Dash drew 1–1 with Racing Louisville, who saw compatriot Uchenna Kanu not involved in the game.
Esther Okoronkwo, the 2025 WAFCON final MVP, started for AFC Toronto in a 2–0 win over Calgary Wild FC. Her pass to Zoe Burns took a deflection and ended up in the net for the opening goal.
Over in Spain’s Liga F, Levante fielded two Nigerians against Granada. Paulina Ali (DF) and Ziporrah Agama (FW) started in the 1–2 defeat, while Kalu Chinyere (MF) was not involved.

Meanwhile, France’s Division 1 Féminine kicks off on September 6, featuring Nigerian duo Jennifer Echegini and 2024 WAFCON-winning captain Ajibade.
