The coach of Plateau Vipers, Abdulrasheed Abdulsalam says his players were the better side against Safety Shooters. Plateau Vipers narrowly defeated Safety Shooters 18-16 on the Day 9 of the second phase of the 2019 Prudent Energy Handball League in Lagos.

Abdulsalam told www.aclsports.com that he has accomplished his mission by beating Safety Shooters in the league.

He said, “My players were better than Safety Shooters on the court today. The players have accomplished what I told them to do; they promised me that they are going to beat Safety Shooters for the second time.

“The players worked together on the court and got the desired result; it is indeed a great miracle. If I do not win the title, I am satisfied beating Safety Shooters again”.

Abdulsalam said he lifted the spirit of the players when he reminded them that they beat Safety Shooters on the same ground last year.

He said, “I reminded my boys that two miracles happened at the second phase of the Prudent Energy Handball league last year by defeating De Defenders and Safety Shooters.

“I said we lost to De Defenders this year and Safety Shooters should not escape us. I told them to go all out but not rush the game; they should take their time and if it is going to end by two goals margin, it should be in our favour and God crowned our efforts”.

“The spirit of the players is high now, they know that it is business and by the grace of God, we will win our remaining two matches” he added.
