The Kenya Volleyball Federation has named Paul Bitok, head coach of the national women’s volleyball ahead of the 2019 All Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco.

The former Rwanda gaffer takes over from Italian coach Shaileen Ramdoo who had been seconded by FIVB.

Bitok promised to bring his wealth of experience into the women’s team like he did with Rwanda. He also thanked the Kenya Volleyball Federation for the opportunity to serve his home country.

He said, “I take this opportunity to thank the Kenya Volleyball Federation; I am pleased to serve my home country in the capacity as head coach of the national women’s team also known as Malkia Strikers”.

He told www.aclsports.com that the team is in good shape and has to translate the training into matches.

Bito said, “We are in good shape and things are positive but then we need to translate this into matches. No one is going to have an easy day playing against Cameroon, Senegal and Algeria in pool B.

Bitok who declined to extend his spell as the Rwandese Volleyball Federation Technical Director after a 10-year spell will have Japheth Munala and Josp Barasa as assistants.
