World Silver medalist, Odunayo Adekuoroye and her coach Purity Akuh have arrived India for the Pro Wrestling League season three. The league kicks off on January 9th, 2018.
The Commonwealth Champion got signed by Mumbai Maharathi for Rs 35 lakh in the women’s 57kg weight category. In a chat, her coach, Purity Akuh said he hopes Adekuoroye and her team clinches the league this season.
“Our aim is to win all our matches and to win the trophy for Mumbai Maharathi”, he said.
On the calibre of wrestlers in Adekuoroye’s weight class, Purity said opponents like World Silver medalist, Marwa Amri of Veer Marathas and World Champion, Helen Maroulis of Haryana Hammers are strong but God’s grace is sufficient.
“Marwa and Helen are strong opponents, we have watched their videos we’ve planned ahead of the challenges and by God’s Grace we will defeat them” the Nigeria female head coach said.
He said, “the league is an avenue to compete with the world class athletes, it help in terms of exposure and popularity of our athletes globally”.
The winner of Sports Woman of the Year 2017 other teammates in Maharathi are Andrei Yatsenco, Soslan Ramonov, Virdev Gulia, Satyavrat Kadian, Satyendra, Simi, Sakshi Malik and Vascon Cynthia.
