The end of the season Super 4 tournament to determine the winner of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League commenced in Sunday, at the Agege Soccer Temple in Lagos.

The four teams at the competition are Go Round FC of Rivers state, Heartland of Owerri (Imo state), Kwara United and Remo stars of Ogun State who received a wild card to replace Yobe Deserts who pulled out at the last minute.

The opening match of the tournament which is on a knockout basis, saw Go Round FC square up against Kwara United and after 90 minutes of football action it ended in a stalemate. Off we go into penalties!

Go Round celebrate winning on penalties

It was the club from Rivers state who acquitted themselves well, scoring all four of their spot kicks while Kwara United only managed to find the back of the net twice; thus handing their opponents a deserved 4-2 win and a spot in the finals of the Bet9ja NNL Super 4.

“We are happy to have won the match. I anticipated that the match may drag to the penalty shootout. So, I prepared the players well for the shootout,” coach of Go Round d FC – Emmanuel Elections said.

“It is on record that we are yet to lose any match during our pre-season tour and I can also say that all the players in Go Round FC are from the NNL.

“Now, I want to go home with the trophy here and this is my next target,” he added.

Remo Stars and Heartland FC will lock horns by 4pm on Monday to determine who will face Go Round FC in the battle to be crowned 2017 Bet9ja NNL Super 4 Champions.
