Nigeria’s male national volleyball team finished 13th position after beating Niger 3-0 major score (26-24, 25-15, 25-20) at the African Nations Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
The male team were condemned to 13th after narrowly losing to Kenya 2-3 (20-25, 25-20, 29-25, 25-22 and 13-15) in an epic tiebreaker lasting more than two hours in the play off 9 to 14 positions in the Cairo Stadium Complex.
The male team on Wednesday had lost 3-0 to Cameroon in their second Pool C match 26-24, 25-20, 25-19. Team Nigeria lost 1-3 to Morocco in their first match on Tuesday.
The 2017 Men’s African championship doubles also as 2018 World Championship qualifiers where the top three African teams book their tickets to represent Africa in the FIVB Prestigious championship which holds in Japan.
