Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, has completed his move to South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs, the club announced on Thursday.

Akpeyi joined the Soweto side for an undisclosed fee from fellow Absa PL side, Chippa United, on transfer deadline day.

He has since put pen to paper on a one and half year contract, according to the club.

“Chiefs would like to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi from Chippa United. He has signed a contract for 1 year and 5 months,” the club said via their official social media account.

The former Warri Wolves, Heartland and Nasarawa United goalkeeper spent four years at Chippa United after he joined the club in the summer of 2015.

The 32-year-old, who was part of the Super Eagles team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, has featured 18 times in the Absa PL this season, keeping six clean sheets.

Akpeyi would have been a free agent this summer as he had just six months left on his current deal at Chippa.
