FIBA Africa has awarded Senegal host of the sixth and final window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in February.

With Tunisia, Nigeria, and Angola already qualified for the World Cup in August, the last two tickets on offer for African countries will be determined in Dakar.

Leaders D’Tigers who are unbeaten in the Qualifiers, will square off with Cote d’Ivoire, Central African Republic and host Senegal in the second leg of Group F.

Senegal are second on the log followed by CAR, Cote d’Ivoire, Rwanda and Mali respectively. The second best team in the Group and the best third-placed team from the two groups will qualify for the FIBA World Cup scheduled for August 31-September 15 in China.

Cameroon who are third in Group E with 19 points still stand a chance of qualifying only if the third best team in Group F finish lower.

The six-team tournament is expected to take place in the recently-launched new Dakar Arena, located on the outskirts of the Senegalese capital from February 22-24.
