The Super Eagles of Nigeria held their first training session of the year in Abuja on Monday as the team began preparations for this weekend’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers (2023AFCONQ) against Guinea-Bissau.

Training under the watchful eyes of head coach Jose Peseiro, twelve players took full part in the training session held on Monday evening at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Only Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi trained separately from the rest of the squad. The number of players in camp continued to swell by the evening with fifteen (15) out of the invited 23 players already in camp as at 9pm local time.

Team captain Ahmed Musa and his fellow Turkey based star Bright Osayi-Samuel were the two players that arrived after the training session.
