Head coach of Nigeria National League (NNL) side Ikorodu City, Sadiq Dabiri, has reiterated his side’s readiness ahead of the season opener against FC Ebedei, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Oga Boys will host FC Ebedei at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in the NNL Southern Group B3 match day one fixture as more games take centre stage in the second tier of Nigerian football.

It is the Lagos-based side’s second season in the lower division and the gaffer alongside his assistant Bright Ozebagbe and vice-captain of the club Ojetoye Waliu faced the media ahead of the season opener.

“We are well prepared, very well prepared to start the season tomorrow, says Dabiri to Ikorodu City Media.

Waliu also echoed his side’s readiness ahead of their first game of the season.

“I will say we are all prepared. We played lots of games in preseason against the likes of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan and Gateway United, so I can say we are fully prepared.

When asked about the relationship among the players, Waliu had this to say; “In every club, players come and go. So We (old players) are having a very good relationship with the new players, both on and off the pitch.”

Meanwhile, assistant coach Bright stressed the need for them to respect their opponents and work their way up slowly.

“Football is not played on paper. We will have to respect every team. Every team is as good and that’s why they are here so we will take every match as it comes.”

“We have to take every game (as it comes). We are in this division for now, so we will do what we have to do before we think of playing in the premier league,” he concluded.
