Head coach of FC Ifeanyiubah Ladan Bosso claims the away win recorded by Rivers United in their Match Day 10 encounter against Kwara United aided his side’s draw in their meeting on Sunday.

Both sides played out a 1-1 stalemate at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt on Sunday in a Nigeria Professional Football League Match Day 11 encounter.

Victor Chidume gave Bosso’s charges the lead on 66 minutes before Ochewechi Salefu equalised for the hosts five minutes from time in a game that saw both sides reduced to ten men.

“We have been able to pick an away point with relatively young players and that is commendable,” Bosso told www.aclsports.com after the game.

“It was not an easy game but my boys maintained their concentration for the major parts of the game and I give them kudos for that,” said Bosso.

Psychological effect

Bosso’s side pipped Nasarawa United 1-0 in Nnewi in their last match before Sunday’s game while Stanley Eguma’s Rivers United enjoyed an away win at Kwara United.

The former national Under-20 coach believes that played a key role in his team getting a result on Sunday.”The away win they (Rivers United) had was used to their own disadvantage. We barely got a win at home so that ignites us to come and fight here and that is why we’ve been able to get a point,” he submitted.

Sunday’s draw was the first time FC Ifeanyiubah will secure a point on their trips in this season’s NPFL. They had lost their previous five away games to Niger Tornadoes, MFM, Wikki Tourists, Lobi Stars and Katsina United respectively.
