Three-time CAF Goalkeeper of the Year, Chiamaka Nnadozie, returned to Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) action, keeping a clean sheet for Brighton & Hove Albion in their 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park, www.aclsports.com reports.

The 25-year-old Nigerian shot-stopper made two crucial saves to preserve Brighton’s lead. In the 50th minute, she was alert to a low strike from her Nigeria teammate Toni Payne, tipping it away to maintain her team’s advantage. Later, in the 81st minute, Nnadozie produced a stunning reaction save to deny Mayumi Pacheco, keeping Brighton ahead late in the match.

Brighton’s only goal came in the 41st minute from Jelena Čanković, but it was Nnadozie’s heroics that kept the Seagulls ahead.

Her performance helped Brighton rise to 6th position in the WSL table, while Nnadozie now boasts 44 saves in 11 matches and four clean sheets, just one behind the league leader, already matching the total the Seagulls managed in 22 games last season.
