The 2026 WAFCON is officially scheduled to take place from 17 March to 3 April 2026 in Morocco, www.aclsports.com reports.

The dates were mentioned in a FIFA press release following the Council meeting on Thursday, although CAF has yet to make a formal statement on the tournament schedule.

The 2026 edition follows the recently completed 2024 WAFCON, which was postponed and concluded in July 2025, with Nigeria claiming their 10th title after defeating hosts Morocco. Like the previous tournament, it will feature 12 teams, but it carries added significance as the top four sides will secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Morocco qualifies automatically as hosts, while the remaining spots will be decided through the final round of qualifiers.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to face Benin Republic, with the first leg on 24 October and the return fixture on 28 October.
