The head coach of Safety Spikers VC, Sami Dogonyaro has expressed displeasure over the performance of the team at the first phase of the 2024 National Division One League in Abuja.

Safety Spikers VC is currently seventh position in the league, recording two wins and six losses.

Dogonyaro expressed optimism about the players’ performance during the second phase of the league.

He told www.aclsports.com that the game plan is to maintain their status in the Division One league and not to relegate.

The former player said, “I am not impressed with the performance of my team at the first phase of the 2024 National Division One League in Abuja but I am hopeful that my boys will perform better in the second phase to get more points.

“Safety Spikers VC is currently in seventh position and I have spoken to the players; we are returning to the drawing board and preparing better. With the permutation, Safety Spikers cannot win the league because we have lost valuable points but our target is to remain in the league”.

He revealed that the rescheduling of the league contributed to the woeful performance of the team adding that the new Corp Marshall of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), CM Shehu Mohammed will assist in repositioning sports.

Dogonyaro said, “The preparations were hampered because of the postponement of the league, we had to dispatch the players and reconvening was a big problem for us. In the second phase, we will come out strong; the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) has a new Corp Marshall, Shehu Mohammed and I believe he is a sports-loving man. I am hopeful all our requests will be granted to get top-notch preparations”.

Safety Spikers finished third place at the 2023 National Division Two League.
