Nottingham Forest head coach Sean Dyche has provided a fitness update on the Super Eagles duo of Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi, www.aclsports.com reports.
Under the former Everton boss, the Reds claimed only their second win of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign before the international break. As club football returns this weekend, they are set to face out-of-form champions Liverpool.
Speaking ahead of the clash between the two sides, Forest Boss Sean Dyche, who appeared before the press, gave a comprehensive fitness update on his team, especially on the Nigerian players.
“It is just a settling period, it is nothing too serious, it is a grumbling knee,” Dyche said about Awoniyi, who has made substitute appearances in Forest’s past three games.
“I thought Taiwo did really well when he came on (against Leeds). Unfortunately, he has now picked up a bit of an injury, and we will see how that settles down,” the ex-Everton coach concluded.
“Dilane Bakwa is making good progress… Ola Aina is very similar. He is on the grass but not with us; he is with the medical staff and sports science staff.” Dyche told the Club Media about Aina, who has been out since September due to a hamstring problem.
