Two Nigerian referees will be in charge of Tuesday’s opening game at the UFOAB U17 tournament in Togo; to be decided between hosts Togo and Niger Republic.

29-year old referee Adebimpe Quadri will be the centre referee in the game billed for Stade de Kegue in Lome, the Togolese capital with Celestine Efosa Igudia serving as his first assistant referee.

Retired FIFA badged Assistant referee Peter Edibi will serve as the Match Assessor in the game scheduled to kick-off at 4pm local time.

The competition will serve as qualification tournament for the 2021 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (U17 AFCON) to be hosted by Morocco later in the year.

The two finalists in the competition will qualify as West Africa Zone B representatives in the African championship.

Nigeria’s Under 17 team; the Golden Eaglets are one of the seven teams participating at the tournament, vying for a spot at the tournament where they finished fourth in Tanzania two years ago.

Nigeria are grouped alongside fierce regional rivals; Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana. The Golden Eaglets, coached by Fatai Amoo will play their first game of the competition on Wednesday against the Baby Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.
