Nigeria U-23 are set to face Sudan in the final round of the U-23 AFCON qualifiers after both sides defeated Libya and Kenya respectively to progress to the last round.
The Sudanese side came into Tuesday’s encounter on the back of a 2-0 home advantage in the first leg against Kenya. With the knowledge that they needed to keep it tight at the back to progress they played out a goalless draw to make it a date with Nigeria’s Dream Team VII in June when the final round of the qualifiers will be played.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Dream Team overturned a 2-0 deficit in the first leg defeating Libya 4-0 on Monday afternoon courtesy of a Victor Osimhen hattrick to progress 4-2 on aggregate.
Nigeria will be away to Sudan on June 5 before hosting the final leg of the U-23 AFCON qualifiers on June 9 and the aggregate winner of that tie gets a ticket to the eight-team tournament set to take place in Egypt later in the year.
