The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed four Rwandans to take charge of the CAF Confederation Cup tie between Bayelsa United and CS Sfaxien.

The Nigerian and Tunisian Cup winners go toe-to-toe in the first round of the 2021/2022 edition of the competition with the first leg billed for the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

CAF has now appointed Rwanda match arbiter Samuel Uwikunda as the centre referee for the game in Yenagoa.

Uwikunda will be assisted by compatriots Ambroise Hakizimana (Assistant Referee 1) and Justin Karangwa (Assistant Referee 2) while Abdoul Karim Twagirumukiza will serve as the fourth official.

The match is billed to kick-off at 3pm Nigerian time at the facility in Ovom, Yenagoa which has been given an all-clear by Africa’s football governing body to host the game.

Second leg of the match between United and Sfaxien will hold a week later in Tunisia with the winner over two legs advancing to the playoff round of Africa’s second club continental competition.

Nigeria’s other representatives in the Confederation Cup, Enyimba FC are scheduled to leave Nigeria on Thursday en route to Thies, Senegal where they will face Diambars in their first leg, first round encounter.
